ABOUT ORCC

Owen Ryan is a senior communications and brand leader with more than 25 years’ experience shaping narrative, strengthening identity and guiding teams through moments of significant change. His career spans major media networks in the UK and Australia, leading large creative and content operations across multiple cities and heritage brands.

Before founding ORCC, Owen held senior leadership roles at Bauer Media, culminating in his position as Group Content Director for the UK network. In this role, he was responsible for brand expression, creative direction and communications across 22 heritage radio stations during a period of major transformation. He directed internal and external communications, set tone-of-voice standards and oversaw multi-channel storytelling across campaign, content, digital and partner platforms.

Owen also provided calm, centralised crisis communication leadership during some of the most high-pressure moments in recent UK media history, including the Manchester Arena bombing and London Bridge attack. He managed sensitive organisational communications around Operation Yewtree and unified creative, content and marketing teams across major cities including London, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh. His leadership extended to more than 200 staff and contractors, including 15 senior leaders.

Before his time in the UK network role, Owen spent several years with the Australian Radio Network (ARN), leading creative output and communication strategy across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide. He directed national on-air brand campaigns, developed ARN’s first syndicated content portfolio and worked closely with editorial, production and talent teams to shape a consistent, engaging listener experience across Australia’s major metro markets.

This blend of large-scale leadership, crisis communication, brand guardianship and narrative clarity now underpins the work ORCC delivers for clients. Owen brings a calm, structured and human-centred approach to helping leaders communicate more clearly, build alignment and create stronger, more connected organisations.
